Dr. Scott W. Allen is a licensed psychologist and is board certified in police psychology. Dr. Allen has been working with clients for over 35 years. Dr. Allen graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1975 and was granted his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985.
Dr. Allen is motivated to assist his clients in their quest to overcome their presenting issues. His goal is to provide life changes through an empathic process of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Dr. Allen typically incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy. With couples and marital issues, Dr. Allen utilizes the Abrahams-Springs intervention model. Dr. Allen enjoys working with clients to facilitate change and growth. Specifically, Dr. Allen works with clients in the areas of: anxiety and depressive disorders, major life changes (grief, divorce), post-trauma, gambling disorders, and working with law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and military personnel, and immediate family members.
