Kristel Valdelamar is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, EMDR trained, Certified Addictions Professional, and Qualified Supervisor. Kristel is both fluent in English and Spanish as she was born in Panama. She has been working with clients in both mental health and substance abuse since 2007. Kristel graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.
Kristel is passionate about helping others and assisting clients through the process of becoming happy and healthy individuals. Her goal is to be a source of empowerment and change for clients that may not be certain of their own capabilities.
Kristel likes to incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, solution focused, EMDR, art, and mindfulness skills to her practice. Kristel enjoys facilitating change in clients struggling with an array of issues such as: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, bi-polar disorder, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, survivors of abuse, general life issues, etc.
