Jo-an has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida for 14 years. She brings a wealth of intergenerational and cross-cultural experience and perspective to her practice, having worked in various social work and mental health capacities for almost 50 years with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures and across generational stages, from Pre-K students to senior citizens. These years of experience have shaped her ability to relate well to persons with varying personal and interpersonal life issues.
Jo-an works with clients presenting with a wide spectrum of issues and concerns, including but not limited to, behavior and personality disorders, levels of anxiety and depression, family and marital issues, grief and loss, as well as transition and adjustment issues. She uses a collaborative and user-friendly approach to treatment, and provides competent, caring, and compassionate service. Her approach requires the client’s active participation in the development of realistic goals and implementation of simplistic, client-focused and solution-focused strategies.
