Pamela Panitz, LMHC

Pamela is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor having received her degree from Hunter College, CUNY.  With over 15 years’ experience, she creates a supportive environment, focuses on helping clients to navigate life’s most difficult challenges.   Her clients say that her openness and acceptance and genuine curiosity helps them to focus on their strengths.  Her approach is one of reflective communication, offering gentle guidance and allows clients to see things from a clearer perspective. The use of practical tools to help manage anxiety, self-doubt, and depression proves helpful for clients.

We face many transitions in our lives.  Pamela has helped clients who are experiencing the stress of experiencing chronic pain or illness, experiencing grief and loss, and life transitions.  They move beyond the obstacles to find hope and take the steps towards productive change.  Her style is a mosaic of evidenced based techniques (CBT, DBT, EMDR), with mindfulness, creativity, and 12 step philosophy, that helps clients gain the skills to manage their problems instead of their problems managing them.

Pamela’s strengths are offering compassion, teaching realistic skills, and challenging clients for action.  My philosophy is best described by author Thoreau: "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."

In her spare time, she practices self-care by spending time in nature with her dogs, and practice yoga so that she can be fully present in her work.

“So grateful I found her. Pamela is extremely supportive, especially when I am having hard days. She is very encouraging and has been instrumental in helping me to manage my anxiety.” V.I. 4/27/22
